Guides
Trade Math separates instrument prices from transaction costs: prices describe the market, commissions are values supplied by the user.
Purchase, sale, stop, strike, premium and Futures prices are entered without adding or subtracting commissions.
Use the Commission fields for the total order or contract cost indicated by the label. Before an order you can enter your own estimate; after execution, prefer the broker's actual cost.
A blank commission field counts as 0. When you know the actual cost of an executed order, enter it: Trade Math uses that value and does not replace it with an automatic estimate.
Some tools distinguish normal commissions from special exercise, assignment or settlement costs. Enter them only when they are relevant to the trade.
When an average price already includes historical commission, do not enter that commission again. With an execution-only average, enter historical cost separately when requested.
Futures margin is not a commission. Enter the broker/exchange requirement separately from opening and closing costs.
